1971 Karman Ghia Convertible
Purchased out of Phoenix 3 years ago.
97K miles, believed to be original
Weber carb recently rebuilt
Starts and runs
Tune up (new plugs, points, condenser, valve adjustment) and pre-purchase inspection at Competition Engineering in Phoenix. Report available upon request. The plugs were changed again since then due to an overly rich carb setup (pre-rebuild).
Recent oil change. Trans fluid changed when purchased.
Usual VW leaks. The trans a little heavier than the engine.
Re-painted at some point. Originally blue. Condition is fair.
Minimal rust. There is some filler.
Fresh battery
Dent in left front fender.
Looks to be some repaired nose damage
Floor pans were replaced at some point.
Decent tires.
The spare tire is there, but the jack missing. There is a cheapo floor jack in there now.
Top is fair with a tear on both sides where the support hinges. One tear was stitched back together, the other tear is taped.
Instrument panel was "painted" with a gray textured paint by a previous owner. This was recently painted over with black, although the texture effect is still there.
Blaupunkt radio installed, but the wires to the radio were cut by a previous owners. Don't know if it works. The speakers come with the car, but are not installed.
