Security Alarm Systems Technician
Location: Primarily St. Mary’s/Charles/Calvert Compensation: $20-$25 based on experience
Primary Responsibilities – initiate contact with customers, provide information and recommendations, quotes, complete paperwork, schedule and conduct installations, repairs, and maintenance of residential alarm, automation, A/V, and surveillance systems to include cabling, system components, and programming required to make the system operational; train customers on system usage by testing, demonstrating, and explaining; provide on-call service at all times to respond to service calls.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements - Must have at least 2 years experience in the installation and maintenance of residential intrusion systems, understand basic security and automation systems and installation methods, read blueprints and schematics; ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and make repairs to various low voltage systems; be knowledgeable in computer hardware/software network basics such as switches, routers, electronic and power tools, as well as various wiring configurations and terminations; work well with little supervision individually and as a team; possess excellent organizational and communication skills; have the ability to guide a project through to completion; Have or be able to obtain MSP Security Technician License (Company Sponsored); ability to lift and move up to 50lb boxes, use an extension ladder, and an extensive step ladder; have a valid driver license with clean driving record and be able to pass a background check; Basic computer skills; customer oriented; prior experience with Control 4, Honeywell, and GE/Interlogic products desired but not required.
