POSITION: Electrical Engineer or Electro-Optical Infrared (EO/IR) Engineer
WORK LOCATION: Naval Research Laboratory, Washington DC
COMPANY INFORMATION: Alaire Technologies, Inc., located in Northern Virginia, supports the development of military electro-optical systems – including EO/IR sensor systems, spectral imaging systems and Directed IR Countermeasures; to include requirements specification and system design. The physical work site is the Naval Research Laboratory.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position supports design, development, and test of electro-optical imaging devices. The position will require the use of both hardware (optical lab testing) and software testing (modeling and simulation) for requirements determination.
The ability to communicate results and generate new research ideas is important to the position
Candidates for this position should have prior experience with the design, development, test, and/or analysis of optical / electro-optical systems. Additionally, computer skills are very important.
Desired Background should include:
· Previous experience in computer programming and modeling and simulation.
o MATLAB/Simulink, LabView, C/C++
o Optical modeling to include Synopsys Code V and/or Breault Reseach
· Experience in Electro Optical System development to include:
o Digital image processing
o Digital Signal Processing
· Experience in analog and digital circuit design
· Program Experience in Embedded/Realtime C/C++
Required: BS through PHD in Electrical Engineering, optical engineering, or physics with a research specialty in laser related research or optics. US citizenship required – active secret level security clearance required.
