Research and Engineering Development, LLC, is seeking an immediate fill for a Human Factors Engineer I.  The successful candidate will ensure the design of the software and hardware user interfaces meet the Human Factors Engineering (HFE) principles, guidelines, standards and best practices identified by the military.  Will help to build an integrated solution to our customer’s problem.  Duties and responsibilities of this position include:

     Assist in the identification and development of HFE requirements that meet customer and user needs

     Assist in the review of low, mid, and high fidelity designs for compliance with HFE principles, guidelines, standards, and best practices

     Develop HFE deliverables documenting design and engineering decisions and user evaluation outcomes.

     Participation in meetings, discussions, and review processes

     Active use of JIRA, Slack, Google Apps, and other Team 2 management software

      Participation in creating a positive and interactive team work environment

Candidates will have high level knowledge of design principles like usability, industrial design, and simplicity. Experience applying HFE principles, guidelines, standards and best practices to product development and integration is desired as well as experience with developing and executing user evaluations, and developing physical products.  Candidates for Human Factors Engineer I should have at minimum a BS/BA degree in Human Factors, Human Systems Integration, Cognitive Psychology, or related field and a up to 2 years of related professional experience.  Should have experience with virtual or augmented reality, machine vision, camera system and experience with military/DOD acquisition, research, development, test and evaluation process.  Previous experience working on cross-functional teams and must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to comply with rigorous process and documentation requirements. Role will require some travel.U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a secret level security clearance is required.
