This is a full time behavior consultant position under Behavior Support Services through the Arc of Southern Maryland that currently works with three other regions to form a statewide project in responding to emergencies, writing functional assessments and behavior plans for clients eligible through Developmental Disability Administration. We are seeking a full time consultant licensed under the Board of Examiners of Psychologists in the State of Maryland or capable of receiving their license before hire. The duties requested are listed below:
• Conduct functional assessments and develop behavior plans.
• Provide professionally guided support to clients, families and providers served by Behavior
Support Services in situations where significant behavioral risks are observed that are
beyond the capacity of the immediate support network to address in a safe manner.
• Providing the technical support and follow up service to the caregiver or provider necessary
to ensure that strategies are implemented correctly and consistently.
• Conducting meetings or instructional sessions in order to ensure the correct
Implementation of strategies and to review behavior plan data in order to evaluate the
effectiveness of behavior plan intervention.
• Providing adjustment or modification of recommendations and behavioral strategies.
• This position is 24/7 on call for emergency situations on a rotating basis.
-Master’s degree in Psychology
-Behavioral Analyst Certification, or related field with an emphasis in Behavior Analysis
-Minimum two (2) years’ experience with Behavior Management required
-Must be certified or able to be certified as a Psychology Associate.
-Clean criminal background, vehicle and valid driver’s license with good driving record.
-Proficiency in Excel and Word.
-Good command of English language both oral and written.
-Ability to plan work, organize and maintain workflow while being flexible.
-Ability to work in a professional manner with wide variety of individuals including consultants,
provider agencies, families and the public.
-Bilingual a plus.
