Electronic Tech I

 

Major Duties:

·         Follow documented engineering drawings, processes, test plans, work instructions, change orders, and related technical guidance.

·         Will work as part of a growing team applying standard practices and techniques in electronic, mechanical, or other technical disciplines.

·         Tasking includes the installation of small components including micro components onto circuit boards; installing circuit boards into sub-assemblies; installing sub-assemblies, wiring harnesses, and cable connectors into assemblies, until a final unit is delivered.

·         Activities may include parts requests, fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing.

·         Perform other duties as assigned

 

Experience:

·         1 year of experience in electronics or completion of Vocational Technical training in electronics

Education:

            High School diploma or equivalent required

 

 

Electronic Tech II

 

Major Duties:

·         Apply standard practices and techniques in electronic, mechanical, or other technical disciplines in providing support for ongoing technical programs.

·         Consist of inspecting, testing, adjusting, and certifying basic assemblies and systems, repairing malfunctions by adjusting, calibrating, aligning, or modifying circuitry using hand and power tools; setting up standard test apparatus and conducting operational tests; installing basic equipment field changes; initiating requisitions and replenishing parts, equipment, and material for a project; issuing complete or partial kits to meet delivery requirements. 

·         Must be willing to travel 20% -30% of the time to assist with shipboard/shore-based system installations and test events

·         Perform other duties as assigned

 

Experience:

·         At least four years related experience/background in electronics, communications, navigation, and/or radar systems.

 

Education:

            High School diploma or equivalent required

 

 

 

Electronic Tech III

 

Major Duties:

·         Maintains and tests military AIMS MK XIIA IFF electronic systems.

·         Responsible for system integration, test and evaluation, in-service engineering support, repair and validation, installations, and lab maintenance, on ships and shore stations. 

·         Exercise independent judgment in performing such tasks as the planning, layout, test, troubleshooting, modification and repair of The AN/UPX-29(V) Identification Friend or Foe System.

·         Sets up and operates a wide variety of testing equipment, improvising hook-up and equipment modifications as necessary to test, adjust, align, calibrate and modify circuitry, components, systems or subsystems, ensuring consistency with applicable Work Instructions Quality control Inspection Procedures, and technical manuals.

·         Detailed understanding of the interrelationships of circuits and requires the ability to read schematics and follow work instructions and test procedures.

·         Travel 20 – 30% of the time to assist with shipboard/shore based system installations and test events.

·         Tasking will involve, but not limited to, climbing aloft to perform antenna maintenance and lifting/ carrying heavy objects. 

·         Perform other duties as assigned

 

Experience:

At least 8 years of related experience
Navy Enlisted Classification 1571 (V06B) and 1572 (V07B)
Active security clearance and ability to maintain
Radar and digital electronics experience
Experience with shipboard systems

 

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required

Military Electronics Technician “A” school
