Our busy Waldorf/ LaPlata law firm is currently seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Legal Assistant. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the law firm, including carrying out administrative services, telephone reception, and  providing support to the legal team. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace.


Responsibilities and Duties:

Complete administrative duties such as making copies, answering and directing phone calls and greeting clients

Coordinating appointments, including all correspondence and logistics necessary

Draft documents and letters from a dictaphone and existing acquisitions using proper licensing templates

Manage legal documentation and correspondence in strict confidence

Correspond with counsel, court and clients

Assist with accounting and billing

Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow



2+ years’ working experience as a legal assistant

Familiarity with MS Office

Ability to type 70+ words per minute

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Able to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision

Highly organized and detail-oriented
