Construction Consultant / Project Manager
We are currently seeking a highly-skilled Construction Consultant/Project Manager to join our team. You will collaborate with other project managers and the building team to construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, cabinetry, shelving and laminate. Structures include building frameworks, partitions, doors and windows, and flooring. Overseeing and directing construction, installation, remodels, and installs from conception to completion. You must know how to read and interpret blueprints, work with raw and finished materials, and have a good working knowledge of standard industry tools and equipment. Many of our projects run through nights and weekends, so a flexible schedule is required. You must be organized, detail oriented, effective communication, technical skills, and time management skills.
You will serve as the key point of contact between our business and our customers to ensure timely review and approval of any variations. You will be required to review project plans and designs with individuals requesting work, develop work schedules and crew assignments; inspect work areas to ensure job is being completed as agreed; evaluate staff performance; complete time sheets and work orders; maintain record; monitor inventories; and request supplies and equipment.
This position requires working directly with clients, going on site visits and interacting with customers at all levels. The candidate must be professional and have excellent customer relation skills and must have a strong working knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods, including installation and construction.
· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches and to understand project specifications
· Take measurements and calculate sizes and amounts of materials needed for the project
· Inspect products, identify repairs needed and complete drawings and job folders with instructions for installation crew
· Gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents to include permitting and obtaining health department approvals and attending onsite inspections
· Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements
A valid driver’s license, clean driving record and background check are required. Applicants must have or be able to obtain a DOT medical card to drive a cargo box van and have experience maneuvering a cargo trailer.
