The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) in Washington, D.C., seeks an IT Associate for Network and Security Administration. The position reports directly to the Director of Information Technology.
Network Administration:
- Installation and configuration of Windows Server 2019 or Windows Server 2022 in a virtual environment
- Active directory- adding users, unlocking user accounts
- Vpn configuration and remote desktop
- Configuration of Windows 10 and Windows 11
- Provide network/computer assistance to FAIR/IRLI staff
Security Administration:
Along with the responsibilities below, the IT associate will assist in keeping users informed of security awareness.
- Apply Patches - servers, windows desktops, and annual updates of security software
- Security review - security cloud reports, web usage reports, server health analyzer scans, utilize security tools, monitor network
- File system security - run audit reports, manage alerts on file access, utilize security tools to prevent breaches
Experience/Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems & Network Administration, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Information Systems or a similar field within Computer Science
- 3+ years of work experience
- Knowledge of the current windows operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019)
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Knowledge of Microsoft office on-premise applications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server – a plus, but not required
- Track record of high integrity, sound judgment, and confidentiality
This position is at FAIR’s Washington, D.C. headquarters. It is a full-time, exempt position. FAIR offers generous benefits.
