Chef Instructor
Duties for this position include adhering to the policies & procedures of the School’s QSS: teaching assigned courses with approved curriculum; maintaining sanitation code needed to meet inspection regulations; maintaining & updating curriculum with the Curriculum Development Coordinator; providing direct instruction to individuals seeking to upgrade their steward certification; organizing menus & daily prep needed for meal schedules; production cooking as assigned; demonstrating specific techniques & methods used for recipes; monitoring all equipment for functional & safe daily use; supporting the needs of the School for special events, company requests & other specific tasks as assigned. This position can require weekends, holidays, evening and overnight trips on our training vessel. Must be able to life 40 lbs. Qualifications for this position are: ServSafe Manager and/or Proctor certificate; Train the Trainer Certification (we will provide); proficient communication skills; knowledge of ship board culinary training requirements; the ability to organize daily meal production.
