St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the position of Purchasing Agent/Contract Specialist. The major responsibilities include the following: responsible for procurements up to $10,000; serves as the College’s Procurement Card Program Administrator (PCPA); responsible for monthly and annual MBE state reporting requirement and processing and assisting the Procurement Officer as needed with Invitation for Bids, Request for Proposals, and Contracts for procurements of any dollar level as assigned by the Procurement Officer.
Requirements include: High school diploma or GED required; minimum of two years of college with related course work; bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of three years’ experience in procurement operations; CPPB/CPPO Certification or willingness and ability to obtain certification-requiring 96 contact hours in purchasing seminars; ability to maintain complex records and prepare reports using computer equipment and necessary applications; Strong verbal and written communications skills and the ability to communicate effectively; and must have good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize assigned work to meet deadlines. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
