POSITION SUMMARY: The parish secretary provides clerical support to church staff and greets church members and the public, presenting a good Christian outlook to those who contact the church office.  The parish secretary also serves as the information hub of the parish, answering phones, email, and social media inquiries, and then connecting people to those who can best help them.


TALENTS OR ABILITIES DESIRED: Clerical skills such as filing and typing, pleasant phone manner, experience with Microsoft Office suites and Google Drive, strong organizational and communication skills, Proficient in social media platforms and digital marketing strategies. Creative mindset with the ability to design visually appealing promotional materials. Detail oriented.



·      Prepare Bulletins for Sunday Worship services, and for other special services. 

·      Manage and update the church calendar by receiving and reviewing event requests, meetings, and other special occasions.

·      Manage the church’s phone, mail, and email communication, including newsletters and announcements. 

·      Greet visitors.

·      Maintain essential church records such as the Parish Registers, recording births, deaths, and membership rolls.  

·      Suggest strategies to increase the church’s visibility and engagement within the community. 

·      Manage and maintain the church’s social media platforms, creating engaging content to foster online community and enhance outreach efforts.

·      Support other administrative tasks as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the church office.  



·      Assist in updating and maintaining the church website, ensuring content accuracy and relevance. 

·      Coordinate and promote church events, services, and programs through various channels, including newsletters, flyers, and digital media. 

·      Handle incoming and outgoing, mail correspondence and newsletters.

·      Participate in staff meetings, and vestry meetings upon request.

·      Coordinate the maintenance of office equipment such as the copy machine, and phone service.

·      Maintain regular office hours and facilitate vendor access to church properties.
