Marketing & Communications Director - Greenwell Foundation
Greenwell Foundation seeks a creative, data driven Marketing and Communications Director interested in working in a highly collaborative small non-profit organization poised for growth.
Greenwell Foundation operates as a 501 ( c ) 3 non-profit entity in the beautiful Greenwell State Park situated on the Patuxent River in Hollywood, MD. Our mission is to provide educational, therapeutic, and recreational programs for people with and without disabilities. We promote overall wellness of mind, spirit and body with programs designed to encourage a sense of well-being and connection to the beauty which surrounds us in nature and in all people.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning and Strategy
- Crafts annual Marketing & Communication Plan which includes benchmarks for success
- Executes social media strategies for audience growth, engagement & trends
- Prepares quarterly marketing reports for Board meeting
- Manages marketing strategies with bi-weekly check-in sessions with ED
- Manages department budget in collaboration with Deputy Director
- Conducts post-event surveys, and holds quarterly focus groups for data collection
Promotional Duties
- Provides launch strategies in promotion of new programs and events
- Pitches feature articles and quotes to news outlets
- Represents Greenwell Foundation throughout St. Mary’s County and SMD region
- Uses data to determine outreach and advertising efforts
- Identifies and manages media partnerships for the organization
Communications
- Provides template and topics for monthly e-news letter, drafts press releases and assigns copy writing / editing as needed
- Coordinates distribution of emails with Program Assistant and Communications Intern
- Analyzes communication data quarterly with internal leadership
- Participates in all event committees and meetings
- Branding and Graphics
- Responsible for graphic design and creation of promotional materials including printed and branded items, outsourcing as needed
- Oversees branding and assures graphic quality standards
Marketing Director is a full-time position with flexible and limited work from home schedule, paid time-off, paid federal holidays, no direct healthcare benefits.
Preferred candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or non-profit management
- 5 years progressive marketing experience
- Experience with Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Microsoft Office Suite, WebTrends, Canva and Adobe
- Graphic Design experience a plus
This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule requiring a minimum of 50% of weekly hours performed onsite unless otherwise approved by the Executive Director.
Salary: Compensation commensurate with experience
Includes paid vacation time as stated in offer letter and as part of annual review.
