Impact Summary: The Logistics Specialist ensures the efficient and compliant movement of materials and products within the supply chain. This role is vital in managing shipping, receiving, and inventory processes while ensuring adherence to DoD and AS9100 standards. You will optimize transportation routes, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with procurement and production teams to improve overall supply chain efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain shipping and receiving records for multiple regions or products.
• Track and optimize transportation routes and shipping costs to enhance efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and other regulatory requirements.
• Handle documentation for import/export processes, including customs declarations and compliance forms.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to schedule shipments and ensure timely deliveries.
• Collaborate with procurement and production teams to streamline supply chain operations and improve inventory turnover.
• Perform shipping, receiving, inspecting, inventorying, preserving, packing, technical research, kitting, and fulfilling inventory and shipping requests.
• Create and track packing slips, DD1149 forms, and DD250 documents.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and prepare reports for internal and external correspondence.
• Manage inventory levels for packaging, kitting, and shipping materials.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Competencies:
• Strong understanding of logistics processes, supply chain management, and DoD regulations.
• Experience with inventory management and warehouse operations, including tracking, receiving, and inspecting goods.
• Proficient in logistics software and MS Excel for data management and reporting.
• Analytical problem-solving skills for identifying inefficiencies in supply chain operations.
• Ability to identify and segregate counterfeit or discrepant materials and products to ensure quality control.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in a DoD or AS9100-regulated environment.
• Experience with import/export processes and associated documentation.
• Proficiency in managing shipping documentation, including DD1149 and DD250 forms.
• Familiarity with AS9100 standards and regulations.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance if necessary.
