Impact Summary:As a Senior Quality Assurance Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest levels of precision and quality in aerospace manufacturing. You will be responsible for inspecting and verifying that aerospace parts and components meet strict company, customer, and industry standards. By ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards, performing detailed inspections, and working closely with other departments, you will directly contribute to the success and safety of our aerospace products. Your expertise will drive quality improvements and help maintain our reputation for delivering exceptional products in a demanding industry.
Responsibilities:
• Read, interpret, and apply complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5) to ensure products meet specifications.
• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of aerospace components, ensuring compliance with company, customer, and industry standards.
• Conduct first article inspections (FAIs) and source inspections, documenting and reporting discrepancies as needed.
• Manage non-conforming materials by documenting, controlling, and ensuring proper disposition in coordination with other departments. • Operate and maintain CMM, Faro, Hexagon, and Keyence metrology equipment for inspections, ensuring precise measurements and scans.
• Ensure timely completion of inspections in accordance with production schedules and priority listings, addressing process discrepancies. • Collaborate with functional areas (e.g., manufacturing, quality control, supply chain) to resolve discrepancies and ensure product conformity.
• Maintain inspection tooling calibration records and ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Develop and maintain non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective/preventive action reports (C/PARs), and support internal/external audits.
• Ensure quality records and documentation are accurately maintained for internal and external customer responses, while upholding safety and FOD standards.
Competencies:
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T standards.
• High attention to detail, ensuring all products meet stringent quality and safety standards.
• Capable of identifying non-conformance issues and implementing corrective actions promptly.
• Work closely with functional areas such as manufacturing, quality control, and supply chain to resolve discrepancies and ensure seamless operations.
• Expertise in using CMM, Faro, Hexagon, and other metrology equipment.
• In-depth understanding of AS9100, ISO 9001, and AS9102 standards for quality management systems.
• Proficient in maintaining quality records, inspection reports, and calibration documentation.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing and quality inspection environments.
• Significant experience in both manual and CMM inspections.
• Familiarity with inspection techniques, including surface plate setups and the use of a variety of inspection tools.
• Previous experience with CMM operation (Polyworks Inspection preferred).
• Experience in performing and documenting first article inspections (FAI).
• Advanced mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
• Competent in using electronic databases and following electronic work instructions.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, and AS9102 standards.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
