JOB POSTING – COOK
The William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center has one (1) opening for a full-time Cook position. Entry-level pay for this position is $22.19/hour. This position provides a competitive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance; a pension and 401(k); and paid vacation, sick, and holiday leave. The position is in a union-represented bargaining unit covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
Applicants for this position should possess a thorough knowledge of food preparation and must be able to perform concurrent tasks including, but not limited to, the following:
- Fry, including use of a deep-fryer • Roast (meats and vegetables)
- Broil
- Baking (breads and desserts)
- Meat preparation (deboning, cutting, etc.)
- Other food preparation, including making soup (broths, meats, vegetables, etc.), deli-style products, and specialty salad
Cooks assist in the creation of weekly menus and ensuring the kitchen has all supplies needed to prepare menu items for the week. Cooks are also responsible for ordering from multiple suppliers and accepting and checking orders upon delivery.
Cooks must maintain a clean workspace, including cleaning and upkeep of all equipment and utensils used in the kitchen and the correct use and maintenance of same.

Located in Hollywood, MD, St. Mary’s County, the Winpisinger Center is the dedicated education facility for members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) labor union.
