Entry Level Scientists/Field Technicians
Assisted Management Solutions, Inc. (AMS) is seeking entry level Scientists/Field Techs who are interested in starting a career with a small environmental consulting company primarily servicing the Navy and Marine Corps in the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC area.
This position requires a BA/BS in a scientific or related field. The college degree requirement may be waived with at least two years of field experience in an environmental compliance program.
College seniors graduating in May 2026 will also be considered.
Preference will be given to applicants with exceptional work ethic who enjoy field work in a variety of conditions. Preference will also be given to applicants with at least one of the following qualifications/skills:
ü Knowledge of environmental compliance regulations across a diversity of programs (e.g., hazardous waste, stormwater, water quality, fuel tanks, spills)
ü Environmental field sampling or inspections
ü Good technical writing skills including experience writing technical reports, proposals, and/or management plans
ü Comfortable dealing with large data sets, interpreting graphs, performing data analyses and data entry
ü Experience using MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
ü Experience with performing online research and determining validity of data and other information
Candidates must be comfortable interacting with team members, researching environmental regulations, driving within the Maryland, DC, and Virginia area, and must possess excellent communication skills.
All Candidates must be US Citizens and be able to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
Candidate must have a strong work ethic, enjoy field work, enjoy learning, be a problem solver, welcome challenges or new tasks, and be extremely self-disciplined and reliable.
This position will begin as part-time (up to 35 hours/week) and is anticipated to transition to full-time within four months, contingent upon the award of a follow-on environmental consulting contract. AMS does not provide a traditional employer-sponsored health insurance plan. However, the company offers a cash-back medical reimbursement program for full-time employees to help offset the cost of individually purchased health insurance. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
