Mid-Level Environmental Scientists/Engineers
Assisted Management Solutions, Inc. (AMS) is seeking mid-level environmental scientists and engineers who are interested in a career working for a local, small environmental consulting company servicing the Government client.
This position requires a minimum of a BA/BS in related field and at least two years of environmental consulting experience. Candidates with an MS in a related field and at least two years of environmental consulting experience are especially encouraged to apply.
Preference will be given to those applicants with the following qualifications/skills:
ü Knowledge of biology, geology, chemistry, natural resources, environmental/civil engineering, environmental planning, and/or environmental policy/management
ü Comfortable with field sampling and sampling stormwater during rain events
ü Experience with inspecting stormwater features, hazardous waste sites, fuel tanks, performing EMS audits, or other environmental compliance inspections
ü Good technical writing skills including experience writing technical reports, management plans, emergency response plans, or proposals
ü Comfortable dealing with large data sets, interpreting graphs, performing data analyses
ü Experience using MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
ü Experience managing environmental services contracts for the military client including overseeing subcontractors
Candidates must have prior environmental consulting experience, be comfortable driving within the Maryland, DC, and Virginia area, and must possess excellent communication skills.
All Candidates must be US Citizens and be able to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
Candidate must have a strong work ethic, enjoy learning, be a problem solver, welcome challenges or new tasks, enjoy field work, and be extremely self-disciplined and reliable.
This position will begin as part-time (up to 35 hours/week) and is anticipated to transition to full-time within four months, contingent upon the award of a follow-on environmental consulting contract. AMS does not provide a traditional employer-sponsored health insurance plan. However, the company offers a cash-back medical reimbursement program for full-time employees to help offset the cost of individually purchased health insurance. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
