MetCom is seeking qualified applicants for our Utilitites Building Maintenance Specialist II position

Job Summary: 
Serves as a lead worker in the buildings maintenance crew; plans, schedules and performs a broad range of maintenance and construction duties on buildings, grounds and equipment found in water and wastewater facilities. Position reports to the Wastewater Collections Superintendent.

Essential Functions:

1. Serves as lead worker in the buildings maintenance crew

2. Coordinates and performs light construction, repairs and maintenance to buildings,  grounds and structures used to provide water and wastewater service; to include but not limited to carpentry, roofing, framing, electrical and plumbing

3. Performs a variety of grounds maintenance duties (clearing ditches and fence lines, cutting grass, edging, lawn restoration, etc.)

4. Develops material lists, obtains pricing and creates purchase requests as needed to complete projects

5. Monitors/oversees work of various supply or service contractors 

6. Cleans, prepares, and applies protective coatings to wood, metal, concrete, or other surfaces; including buildings, floors and water storage tanks

7. Utilizes computer skills to generate and close work orders as needed to track job status

8. Upgrades building structures (e.g., installing steps, sidewalks, etc.)
