Overview:
W. M. Davis, Inc is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Building Estimator / Project Manager to joint our team located in Hollywood, MD. This pivotal role combines the strategic oversight of construction projects with the precise skills of extimating commercial building costs. As a key contributor, you will lead project planning, coordinate teams, and develop accurate bids to ensure successful project execution from inception to completion. Your expertise will drive efficiency, cost control, and quality assurance accross diverse commercial construction initiatives. Duties:

• Lead the planning, scheduling, and management of commercial construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Develop detailed construction estimates by analyzing blueprints, schematics, and project specifications. Company uses Softplan, Bluebeam, and in-house Excel Bid sheets.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals by sourcing and evaluating subcontractor quotes, material costs, and labor requirements.
• Utilize project management software like FastTrack Scheduler to create accurate project schedules and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to review contracts, drawings, and technical documents such as schematics and blueprints.
• Oversee construction site activities to ensure safety protocols are followed while maintaining efficient workflow.
• Manage project documentation including change orders, RFIs (Request for Information), progress reports, and closeout documents.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality control measures, and adherence to contract specifications.
• Facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders to resolve issues promptly and keep projects on track. 
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards throughout the project duration.  

Qualiifications:

• Proven experience in construction estimating with proficiency in Bluebeam, Excel, FastTrack or equivalent estimating software.
• Strong background in project management within commercial / residential enviroments.
• Knowledge of contracts, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction management principles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
• Hands-on experience with construction site operations and safety protocols is highly desirable.
• Effective communications skills for collaboration with diverse teams including clients, contractors, and suppliers.
