Overview of Featured Listings

To put your ad in front of more people, we offer the Featured Listings option. There are currently three levels, each one displays in a separate area of the classifieds. You can purchase 1, 2 or all 3 levels for your ad. The key element to Level 1 and Level 2 features is the thumbnail photograph you upload. So, be sure to upload your best photo first, as this is the one that will be used in your Featured Listing display.

WHERE DOES EACH LEVEL DISPLAY? The Level 2 and Level 3 featured listings appear exclusively on the front page of the classifieds as shown below in this screen capture. Level 2 can display up to 4 ads concurrently on an auto-rotating carousel. The user can also manually scroll through the ads on the carousel using the provided controls. Level 3 can display up to 10 ads concurrently and there are pagination controls at the bottom of the list to allow the user to scroll through the remainder. The order of the ads displayed in both sections is also randomized each time a user loads the page to give all advertisers a fair shot.

The Level 1 Featured listings appear in two spots; the first on the category page and next to individual ads on the Detailed Ad page as shown below. Please note that your featured listing will only appear in its respective category. For example if you post your ad in the Vehicles->Cars category, your ad will be featured on the category page for both Vehicles and Cars. It will not appear in any other category.

The above image shows Level 1 Featured Listings displayed on the main level of the Vehicles section. Note that the ads appear in the auto-rotating carousel, 4 at a time. The order of the ads displayed changes randomly each time the user loads the page.



The above image shows a Level 1 Featured Listing displayed in the left column of a Detailed Ad view. Only Featured Listings which are placed in the same category as the detailed ad being viewed will display.

HOW TO PURCHASE A FEATURED LISTING. You select the featured ad levels you desire when you posting the ad as shown in the image below. Remember, you can purchase 1, 2 or all 3 levels if you desire. If you don't choose the option when you post the ad, you have up to 7 days after the post date to upgrade your ad. Please note that upgrading your ad during this 7 day window will not extend the duration of your ad and the price of the option is not prorated.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT FEATURED LISTINGS.

• You can purchase 1, 2 or all 3 levels for your ad.
• You must upload a photo to your ad for Level 1 and 2 to function. If there is no photo, your ad will not appear in the featured section even though you have paid.
• The first photo that you upload to your ad is the one that will be used in the Featured Listing.
• You have up to 7 days after posting your ad to upgrade it to include one or more Featured Listing options. The option costs the same regardless of when you purchase it.
• Our software randomizes the order of the featured ads displayed to give everyone a fair chance to be seen.
• Levels 2 and 3 only display on the front page.
• Level 1 only displays in your category and parent category. Level 1 ads never cross over into an unrelated category.
